- Development Regenerating disused garage sites across the Royal Borough of Greenwich to provide 35 high quality new homes for the elderly and disabled adults.
Having identified eight sites across the borough that were being under used for garage parking, and were suffering from neglect, our Client developed a vision to regenerate them for new specialist affordable housing.
Since there is a need for high quality new homes for the elderly within the borough, our Client wanted to provide new high quality and inclusive accommodation for disabled adults.
We worked closely with the borough's specialist to design adaptable, compliant and bespoke wheelchair units for known incoming customers. Of the 35 units being constructed, fifteen are Wheelchair Homes.
Due to the infill nature of the sites, each site has a number of individual site specific constraints ranging from site contamination, through neighbourly matters and highway adaptations to wayleaves and rights of way issues.
We adopted a collaborative approach to overcome the challenges and obstacles on each site. To keep the project on budget and on programme with minimum impact on the surrounding environment.
