Awards Success

We’re delighted to have won or been nominated for an array of awards recently. We see it as high praise indeed and vindication of the way in which we partner with our clients and hold our employees in such high esteem.

The most recognised scheme of late, that we’re fortunate enough to have been involved in is Weaver’s Quarter, also known as Gascoigne Estate.

Weavers Quarter is Phase 1 of a landmark regeneration project in Barking Town Centre that’s set to transform the Eastern part of the Gascoigne Estate. The scheme includes the demolition of numerous 1960's blocks, extensive service diversions and the construction of 421 new build units plus an energy centre. The Gascoigne redevelopment is planned to deliver a 1,575 homes along with commercial buildings, primary and secondary schools over a 10 year programme.

Weaver’s Quarter won the Best Urban Regeneration in the First Time Buyer Awards. The FTB Awards are an annual celebration of some of the many lengths that are gone to in order to help buyers get on to the housing ladder. The awards recognise and reward everyone from housebuilders to housing associations to legal companies.

Weaver’s Quarter was also shortlisted in the Regeneration category of the RICS Awards 2018. The RICS Awards showcase initiatives and developments in land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. They celebrate the achievements and successes of RICS professionals and their impact on local communities. This particular category was awarding exceptional improvements to urban, rural or coastal areas. So, to have been shortlisted is a huge testament to the development.

It has also been shortlisted in the Best Construction Project to Work On category in the Construction Enquirer Awards. The project is being judged on a number of criterion including; ways project staff are encouraged to thrive and flourish, staff wellbeing and attitudes towards work/life balance, equality and inclusion as well as safety policies and initiatives. The winners are to be announced in August.

We have recently been shortlisted as Best Employer’s Agent in the National Housing Awards 2018. The Awards Ceremony is later in 2018, but to have been shortlisted is a huge honour and we couldn’t be more pleased. As if this wasn’t enough, three further projects have also been shortlisted in the following categories; Best Regeneration Project, Best Large Development and Best Partnership. We wish all of the teams involved the best of luck in September at the Awards Ceremony.

As a company, to be shortlisted as Employer of the Year in the Royal Greenwich Business Awards was hugely gratifying. The Greenwich Business Awards showcase business excellence from the best organisations within the borough. We lost out on this occasion to a local business who were also very deserving of the award.

Finally, we have nominated our “Building Futures” Training Initiative for a Good Employer Guide at the Building Awards 2018. Martin Arnold currently employ 90 people. Our approach to training has always been companywide and runs to the core of our company ethos. We train our people to become the best that they can be which will give them the best opportunities in their futures. Because of this ethos, we have decided to enter the new award that Building are hosting as we feel it would recognise all the hard work and dedication that our employees produce.
